The Center for Pediatric Psychology and Family Studies focuses on the relationships among health, illness, and behavior in children, youth, and families. The Center's mission fosters the development and dissemination of new knowledge and evaluate its application. Pediatric psychologists, pediatricians, and their students work collaboratively on a variety of research activities to impact quality of life, adherence to medical treatments, pain and discomfort, and coping with issues associated with chronic illness or injury. The Center's members are also integrally involved in the planning of the Florida Conference on Child Health Psychology, an interdisciplinary international meeting of health professionals involved in pediatric psychology research.
