Evaluation

  1. Examinations:  There will be a mid-term and final exam, both counting equally.  The material will come from the lectures.  Prior to the test, there will two hours of review.  If you wish, you may schedule a small group review session with me (three or four class members) and I will answer questions, etc.
  1. Extra Credit Paper:  After the mid-term, there will an opportunity to write an extra credit paper.  At that time, you will be given specific guidelines about the paper, negotiation of the topic, and, of course, a due date.  A good paper may earn up to ten points.
  1. Currents Events Project:  Since Health Care is such a dynamic part of the social and political landscape, not a day goes by that newspapers and magazines carry an abundance of articles about health care, medicine, research, etc.  This requirement will encourage you to keep current on the healthcare field.  It is part of your grade so it is important to understand what is required.
  2. Ms. Michael Perrone, teaching assistant, will discuss this in class on Monday, August 24th,  2009.

  1. Scoring for Grade

a.  Mid-term:                100 points
b.  Final:                       100 points
c.  Articles:                     10 points
d.  Extra Credit Paper:   10 points

Total:                            220 points

Grade Calculation:  220/210 gives you your percentage.  The normal college grade ranges will apply.
