Undergraduate

The health science bachelor’s degree program is designed for students interested in becoming health care professionals who address the health care needs of individuals and communities. Instruction includes information on the U.S. health care system and the economics of health care; disease and disability; the role of health care providers in patient care and health related research; and ethical and legal issues. It also focuses on the development of therapeutic communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills. Please do not hesitate to contact our academic advisors at (352) 273-6400 to discuss your career options and academic course planning and needs. Our advisors are located in the HPNP building in room G205.

You will note below that one of the selections is the Academic Learning Compact (ALC). The ALC is designed to help us determine if students are meeting our program objectives. In addition to course grades, our college assesses student learning outcomes through the use of a capstone exam. This multiple choice exam includes questions about key health science concepts and is administered during spring term of the senior year. Questions are similar to questions students have encountered throughout their program. If you have any questions about the ALC, please do not hesitate to contact us.
