What's My New Address?
Even though you have moved to a new office, your mailing address has not changed. What has changed is your physical address. Visitors to the building and shippers will need to know your new physical address. Complete address info, both mailing address and physical address are also available.
Who Ships to Which Address?
The US Postal Service uses your mailing address. That mail will be delivered, as usual, to the post office boxes on the ground floor of the MSB.
All other shippers, including FedEx, UPS, Airborne, and any freight carrier will deliver to the physical address. In the past this meant that your parcels would arrive at the loading on the ground floor of the Dental building. Central receiving staff would sign for the packages and then deliver them throughout the complex.
If you list the old physical address as the shipping address your parcels (or freight) will be delivered to the loading dock at Dental ground floor. Unless you meant the parcels to go to the Dental Building, you will have to go get them. If the parcel is heavy you may need to borrow a cart for the journey back.
As many of you and your lab space will still reside in the Dental Building, you may well want some parcels delivered to the Dental loading dock. That's fine, just choose your shipping addresses carefully.
Receiving Shipments at the New Building
HPNP has a loading dock located at the back of the HP lobe of the building. This loading dock is not staffed, so you will need to make arrangements with your shipper to either have the parcels delivered directly to your room or to meet the shipper at the loading dock.
Whether a shipper will deliver to your room varies. At the very least the Dean's Office recommends that you provide your current phone number so the shipper can call for someone to meet them at the HPNP loading dock when they arrive.
Updating Your Published Address
You physical address probably appears on stationery, business cards, letter head, document templates, and web pages. Please make a point of revising these items to reflect your new physical address. Your phone number will also need update. For updated phone numbers see the HPNP phones.
